Sjursnes lies on the Ullsfjord at the foot of the Lyngen Alps, high above the Arctic Circle. Glaciers shaped these mountains; light shapes every day you spend among them. A glacier's lasting signature, renewed each season.

For weeks the sun simply does not set. The fjord turns gold at midnight, the mountains hold the light, and a late dinner on the terrace becomes the best part of the day.

Birch and bilberry burn red and gold against still, mirror-like water. The air is crisp, the crowds are elsewhere, and the first northern lights return to the evening sky.
Always leave a light on

Far from city light, with the fjord in front and the mountains behind, the sky does the rest. Watch from your terrace, from the window seat, or step outside when the colours begin to move.

Snow on the peaks, blue hours that last all afternoon, and a wood-burning stove waiting inside. Winter here is not the absence of light, but a different kind of it.
